Cheesy Garlic Mushroom Sandwich



Ingredients:

Mushroom (cut into thin slices) - 200 gm
Butter - 2 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 cup
Garlic cloves (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Capsicum (finely chopped) - 1 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp or as per taste
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cheese slice - 2
Cheddar / Mozzarella cheese - 2 tbsp
Bread slices - 8

Method:

  1. Heat butter in a pan or kadhai over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
  3. Add garlic and sauté until aromatic and onion turns light brown.
  4. Add capsicum and cook for a minute.
  5. Add sliced mushrooms and salt; mix well.
  6. Reduce the flame and cook until the water released by the mushrooms is almost completely reduced.
  7. Add black pepper and mix well.
  8. Add a cheese slice and stir until it melts.
  9. Add cheddar or mozzarella cheese and combine thoroughly.
  10. Switch off the heat and keep the filling aside.
  11. Take a bread slice and spread 1–2 tablespoons of the prepared mushroom filling evenly.
  12. Cover it with another bread slice.
  13. Apply butter on the outer side of both bread slices.
  14. Toast the sandwich in a sandwich maker for 2–3 minutes or until golden and crisp.
  15. Serve hot and enjoy a delicious, filling sandwich.
