Cheesy Garlic Mushroom Sandwich
Ingredients:
Mushroom (cut into thin slices) - 200 gmButter - 2 tbsp
Onion (finely chopped) - 1 cup
Garlic cloves (finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Capsicum (finely chopped) - 1 cup
Salt - 1/2 tsp or as per taste
Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cheese slice - 2
Cheddar / Mozzarella cheese - 2 tbsp
Bread slices - 8
Method:
- Heat butter in a pan or kadhai over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- Add garlic and sauté until aromatic and onion turns light brown.
- Add capsicum and cook for a minute.
- Add sliced mushrooms and salt; mix well.
- Reduce the flame and cook until the water released by the mushrooms is almost completely reduced.
- Add black pepper and mix well.
- Add a cheese slice and stir until it melts.
- Add cheddar or mozzarella cheese and combine thoroughly.
- Switch off the heat and keep the filling aside.
- Take a bread slice and spread 1–2 tablespoons of the prepared mushroom filling evenly.
- Cover it with another bread slice.
- Apply butter on the outer side of both bread slices.
- Toast the sandwich in a sandwich maker for 2–3 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Serve hot and enjoy a delicious, filling sandwich.
